What is Administration?
Administration, also referred to as business administration, is the management of an office, business, or organisation. It involves the efficient organisation of people, information, and other resources to achieve organisational objectives. Information is key to business operations, and people are the resources who make use of information to add value to an organisation. This means that companies will struggle without some type of administration management.
What is Administrative Management?
The management of administration has become an important function for every successful organisation and plays an essential role in ensuring that businesses run smoothly. Administrative Management is the process of managing information through people. This usually involves performing the storage and distribution of information to those within an organisation. A large amount of roles within business, require some element of administrative management. Anyone involved in the planning, co-ordinating, directing, or controlling aspects of a business can be considered an Administrative Manager.
The Institute of Administrative Management, UK confirms that graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Hong Kong Institute of Business Administration by virtue of their successful completion of the aforementioned programme of study meet the eligibility requirements to join as Fellows of the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM). Graduates who join the IAM will be entitled to use the post-nominal letters FInstAM for the duration of their active membership and to receive the associated benefits.
At Member level you will have a wealth of sector knowledge and skills in your profession. You will be focused on developing new skills and insights as well as looking for career progression. More experienced members may wish to share their skills and knowledge in the form of mentoring and will have the opportunity to network and share ideas with other members at special events.
Individuals will need to submit a full CV and support their application with at least one of the following requirements:

Evidence of having achieved a level 4 or 5 qualification in a relevant administrative or managerial field.

Evidence of having been employed for at least three years with a minimum of one year being a management role, within a business where their duties involved professional administration and/or administrative management

Fellow (FInstAM)

Fellowship of the Institute of Administrative Management is the most senior grade available and is reserved for those who have reached the highest echelons in their career, demonstrating their ability to expertly carry out their professional roles and duties.
Individuals will need to submit a full CV and support their application with at least one of the following requirements:

Evidence of having achieved a level 6+ qualification in a relevant administration, business and/or management discipline.

Evidence of significant experience or contribution to the fields of professional administration and/or administrative management and/or business leadership judged by the IAM as commensurate to the grade.

Evidence of having been employed for ten years or more at management level; with at least 3 at senior/strategic level, within a business where their duties involved professional administration and/or administrative management
